why are outcome measures needed?
To monitor progress
To test effectiveness of treatment
To assess the needs of the client and service
Research (using the same outcome measure allows comparison)
Challanges of rutiently administering outcome measures
- Would be ideal for reserach but irl there is not enought time
- The assessments can be long and mundane = would decrease engagement
- EIS have good tract record of routine data but they are limited to the necessary minimum
- Requires training to ensure the inter-rate reliability
