Outcome Measures Flashcards
To remember what outcome measures measure what
What does the ASIA AIS define?
- The severity of injury in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI).
- Identification of sensory and motor levels indicating the highest spinal level demonstrating unimpaired function
Describe the point scale for the ASIA AIS
A: Complete, No sensory or motor preservation in S4-S5
B: Sensory incomplete, motor function not preserved, sensory preserved below S4-S5
C: Motor incomplete, motor function preserved below NLI and more than half of key muscle functions below NLI have muscle grade less than 3
D: Motor incomplete, motor function preserved below NLI and more than half of key muscle functions below NLI have muscle grade more than 3
E: Normal
What components does the ISNCSCI include?
- Light touch sensation
- Pin prick sensation
- Anorectal exam
- UE & LE Motor Exam
How do you score light touch sensory testing?
0 = Absent
1 = Impaired (described as different)
2 = Normal
NT = Not testable
How do you score pin prick sensory testing?
0 = Absent, can’t distinguish between sharp & dull, or not reliably reporting
1 = Impaired, intensity different from face
2 = Normal
NT = Not testable
What is the WUSPI (Wheelchair User Shoulder Pain Index)?
- Self reported measure of shoulder pain during functional activities
- 15 questions, scored using a 10-point VAS
- Max score: 150 higher = worse
What does the WUSPI (Wheelchair User Shoulder Pain Index) consist of?
4 Activity Domains, 15 items
- Transfers
- Wheelchair mobility
- Self-care
- General activities
What is the ICF Level for the GMFM-88?
Activity limitations
What is the age range for the GMFM- 88?
Typically developing 5-year-old will pass all items
What areas are tested by the GMFM- 88?
Gross motor
What are the unique characteristics of the GMFM- 88?
Motor growth curves are based on this test
What is the ICF Level for the 6MWT?
TUG
TUD
Pediatric Balance Scale
