Outcome Measures Flashcards
AM-PAC 6 Clicks
predictive of discharge setting based on PT and OT reports of mobility–non-discriminant re: assist levels
1>4= unable>ind
cut-off:17 (institutional discharge)
PFIT-s (physical fn intensive care test)
measures independence w/ shoulder and knee strength, STS and marching
Total score 0-12 (unable>ind)
FSS-ICU (functional status score)
predictive of discharge based on mobility and does account for assistant levels (total score =35 max for hospital release)
CPAX (critical care physical assess)
10 measures of respiratory fn, mobility, balance and grip. 0-50 (dep>ind)
*ideal for vent pts, higher score means shorter stay
ACIF
tests mental status, transfer, mobility (stair and w/c) for d/c placement
cutoff:.4 >not going home
PERME ICU Mobility
Mobility status of ICU pts, takes a long time
High scores:few barriers and less assistance
DEMMI
mobility in patients making transition from hospital to the community
Higher scores indicate better mobility. no cut off scores
ICU Mobility Scale
11-item scale measuring the highest level of functional mobility of ICU pts
0-10 (lying in bed>walking ind)
5TSTS
balance assessment; has a floor effect
cutoff:15s= fall risk
30s Chair Rise
Records # of stands in 30 seconds rather than time to complete pre-determined # of reps. Addresses floor effect of 5X STS as it can assess a wide variety of abilities.
Modified Berg Balance Scale
abbreviated berg for balance in different scenarios
cutoff: below 23= fall risk
FIST (function in sitting test)
bedside eval of sitting balance- 14 items from 0-4. best for impulsive/poor motor control pts/pts unable to stand
Modified Borg RPE
rate of perceived exertion- especially reliable when HR isn’t.
0-10 (none>very hard activity)
FIM (Functional Ind Measure)
a pretty universal measure of disability/ change in status post-intervention includes self-care, sphincter ctrl, mobility, transfers, communication, and cognition (1-7:untestable to complete ind)
KUBS (Kansas University Balance Scale)
Balance from sit/stand to throwing a ball, ceiling effect
