What does “Create Supportive Environment” mean?
The need to create environments that encourage supportive communities, individuals, to take care of each other as well as our communities and natural environments to ensure positive benefit to public health.
What does “Strengthen Community Action” mean?
To ensure the influence of community actions are effective. Strengthening public participation. Enabling access to resources, such as information and learning opportunities for health.
What does “Build Public Health Policy” mean?
Directing communities as well as individuals to be aware of health consequences relating to their decisions and to accept their responsibility for health.
What does “Develop Person Skills” mean?
Raising awareness as well as educating issues of health and enhancing life skills. Allowing empowerment of their health and being able to be in control of their own health and their influence on environments.
What does “Reorient Health Services” mean?
Moving towards a health care system that contributes to the pursuit of health. Moving beyond providing clinical and curative services.
What does “Advocate” mean?
Political, economic, social, cultural and environmental, behavioural and biological factors can either be of advantage or disadvantage a persons health. This concept aims at ensuring these conditions are of advantage through advocacy for health.
Explain Enable.
Ensuring equal opportunities and resources to enable all people to achieve to their fullest health potential.
Explain Mediate.
Professional and social groups, and health personnel have a responsibility to mediate between differing interests in society for the pursuit of health.
