What is the prostate gland
The prostate is an encapsulated accessory reproductive organ in males that produce prostatic fluid, an alkaline, zinc and fibrinolysin-containing component of semen. The alveoli of the prostate gland refer to the tubulo-alveolar glands in the prostate that produce prostatic fluid.
What is the ductus arteriosus and its function
ductus arteriosus is an embryonic vessel that connects the pulmonary trunk to the descending aorta, bypassing the pulmonary circulation during gestation. At birth, the vasa vasorum (small blood vessels supplying the wall of the ductus arteriosus) undergo apoptosis, closing the ductus arteriosus and turning it into the ligamentum arteriosum. This ensures that after birth, blood is circulated to the pulmonary circuit for oxygenation.
