vit D- who is at risk (7)
A
- House-bound person (disable pt who is at home all the time, including RACF)
- A person who wear covered clothes all the time (ex occupational/niqab)
- dark skin
- Chronic disease (liver/kidney/hyperparathyroidism)
- Disease leads to fat malabsorption (coeliac disease, cystic fibrosis, IBD)
- Rifampicin/antiepileptic
- Pregnant women at 1st trimester

A
Mild → 30-50
Moderate → 12-30
Severe → <12
in osteoporosis - target Vit D >75

Vit D - treatment and follow up
A
- increase sun exposure 15-30min/day
- Ca intake 1300mg/day
- mild –> vit D 1000 IU /day for 3 months
repeat Vit D in 6 months - moderate-severe –> 3000 IU/day for 3 months then 1000 IU/day for 3 months
repeat vit D in 3 mnths
