A
- Crosses the placenta
**Warfarin embryopathy
**Between 6 - 9 weeks gestation
Midface hypoplasia, stippled condral calcification, scoliosis, short proximal limbs, short phalanges
**Warfarin in 2nd and early 3rd trimester
** Foetal intracranial haemorrhage, schizencephaly (grey matter malformation of the brain)

A
- Risk greatest at 12-40 weeks
- Cross placenta and accumulate in developing teeth and long tubular bones - dysplasia and discolouration of developing teeth

- If within 10 days VZIG - check serology first

Notes on methotrexate in pregnancy
A
- -> skeletal abnormalities and cleft palate, hydrocephalus, anencephaly, abnormal facial features
- Should be discontinued one to three months prior to ceonception
