Elemental Points
Point in a channel that has the most qualities of that specific element
(ex: Ht-8 has most Fire in Heart channel so is labeled “Fire-Point”)
Xi Cleft Points
Treat acute conditions and pain
(treat blood issues on Yin channel)
Source Points
Source of original Qi
Yin ones are great for tonifying Qi when it’s deficient
Luo Connecting Points
Where the primary channel diverges
Treat disorders of Interior/Exterior paired (Lu/Li, Sp/ST, etc), disorders reached by the luo channel, psycho-emotional disorders
Back Shu Points
Treats chronic issues
inner shu: organ issues
outer shu: emotional/spiritual issues
Front Mu Points
Where Qi gathers and concentrates on the surface of the body
Qi is gathered locally above the location of the organ,
points are mostly NOT on the direct channel, used to tonify all organs, used to diagnose organ disharmony
Influential Points
aka Hui-Meeting points
sinews, vessels, blood, bone, marrow, etc.
use to influence when treating such issue to reinforce treatment.
Four Command Points
The four most useful and important points
St-36: abdomen
Bl-40: back
Lu-7: nape of neck and head
L.I.-4: face and mouth
Window to Sky Points
aka Window of Heaven
Located on the neck (lowest is Lu-3)
Used when a “bottleneck” is preventing free flow of blood and Qi from head to body
Ghost Points
Used to treat mania and epilepsy
