Drug used to help tx alcohol dependence
-blocks aldehyde dehydrogenase => causes aversive rxn to alcohol (flushing, nausea)

-but requires compliance, so works only in highly motivated pts

A

Cognitive: confusion, hallucinations

Autonomic: hyperthermia, hyper or hypotension, tachycardia, nausea
