may float on fixative, to prevent it from floating on fixative, cover with several layers of gauze to keep it at the bottom of the container

Ringer’s lactate
should not be dissected before they are fixed
Eyes
immersing specimen in 4% aqueous phenol for 1-3 days
Hard tissues (cervix, uterine, fibroid etc) must undergo LENDRUM’S METHOD
