Other Flashcards
When is active space important?
In motion photographs
What is Composition?
Composition is the visual arrangement or placement of the elements in a photograph.
What is a polarizing filter?
Polarizing filters improve the saturation in a photograph (make the colors deeper) and reduce the amount of reflected light that hits the camera’s sensor.
WEhat are UV/Haze filters?
UV/Haze filters can add extra protection for the camera lens. UV stands for “ultraviolet,” or the light that is invisible to the human eye. With film cameras, UV or haze filters are used to cut down on the haze that could appear in photographs of mountains or coasts. However, digital cameras are less susceptible to UV light, making UV filters less needed with today’s cameras for the purpose of eliminating this light.
What are Neutral Density filters?
Neutral density (ND) filters help change the exposure time for a photograph. Specifically, they decrease the amount of light that enters the camera, allowing for a larger aperture for a longer period of time.
What are colour filters?
Although not as popular today, color filters are sometimes used to enhance certain colors in the photograph.
What is shape?
The two dimensional representation of an object
What is form?
An object’s appearance in 3 dimensions
What is the purpose of documentary photography?
Documentary photographs are created to produce a historical record of an event, place, or person.
