PDU: What it is, how to accrue:
PDU = Professional Development Units. Must earn 24 of these every two years (biennial lic renewal as of 2009) to maintain license. Earn by:
• Professional development activities
• Academic credit
• Continuing education units (CEUs)
• Study groups, mentoring, publishing, presenting, attending meetings
What is CBOT
California Board of Occupational Therapy
• Sets regulations and profession codes
CBOT code for supervising aides
Section 2570.2 (a): OT or OTA must provide direct in-sight supervision of aides, and to document client’s record of tasks performed by aide.
Frequency supervising OT must review/inspect services provided by OTA:
At least weekly, according to CBOT.
Number of OTAs that may be supervised by one OT
According to CBOT, maximum of 3, but board could approve more. Never twice as many OTAs as OTs.
CFOT
