-Inflamation of the middle ear (space behind the air drum) usually caused by bacteria/virus after a cold
What are the symptoms of Otis media?
- Ear pain
- Fever
- Vertigo

- Prem baby
- Family history
What is the treatment of Otis media?
- Analgesia
- Penicillin
- Antibiotic
What is the common age for Otis media?
-Most common in 2-5 year olds
What is the visual observation of Ostis media?
- Red
- Swelling
- Blood
- Puss
- Air bubbles
- Fluid (dark amber colour)
What are the complications of Otis media?
-Hearing loss (can effect schooling, speech, language)
What are grommets?
-Small plastic tubes with the hole in the centre to allow fresh air into the middle of the air.

- Ostis media
- When it starts to affect speech, language and school.
How long do grommets last?
-Fallout naturally at 6-12 months
