Osteosarcoma
most common, but still rare.
occurs at any age- mostly young
Accounts for 53% of bone sarcomas in 10-14yr olds

Ewings sarcoma
common in young (0-14yrs) also teenagers.
Generally arise from medullary cavity with invasion of haversian system.
Femur ; pelvis, shoulder, girdle, ribs
Chondrosarcoma
30-60yrs
cartilage cells
37% of all bone sarcomas
Chondrosarcoma common sites
Pelvis
Femur
Humerus
Scapula
ribs
Spindle cell sarcoma
Treated in a similar way to osteosarcoma
Adults >90
Diff types: undifferentiated sarcoma of bone
Fibrosarcoma- very rare
Leiomyosarcoma- very v rare
Chordoma
Very rare
35-40% grow in skull/ bones middle of face
Remainder develop in spine
Giant cell tumour
(osteoclastoma)
Tumour arising in 30-50yrs
common in long bones (around knee, humerus, radius)
“soap bubble” appearance
