what are the key principles of osgood schramms

A
  1. circular communication (2 way, ppl can sent and receive msg, instead of 1 way)
  2. interpretation is essential (msg needs to be understood. misunderstand can change how the msg is received)
  3. encoding, decoding and interpreting
  4. Equal and reciprocal communication (both communicators are equal participants)

A

ignores power balance (doesnt consider when one person has more power (boss, media) which makes it uneven)
overemphasis on equality (doesn’t work when one side has more power, better for equal relationship like friends)
