A visual inspection of the location of pain looking for asymmetry or lack of alignment

Loss of function
Is checking if the patient can move the limb at all without pain
Is the a loss of range of movement or power

Swelling
Is there obviously swelling or bruising

Deformity
This involves comparing the form and shape of good limb to the bad limb

Unnatural movement
Assessing the joints above and below the injury
What does the C stand for in PILSDUCT and how is it practiced
Crepitus
Is there a crunching, grating or popping sound when palpating

Tenderness
Involves palpitating the injury to identify a possible break push hard
