How to assess for posterior airway space
A latera ceph. A line from B point through gonion through the posterior airway. Less than 11 may indicate tongue obstruction
What are you evaluating on a frontal photo?
Facial thirds, facial fifths, midlines, scleral show, incisal show in repose.
What are you evaluating on a profile picture?
Facial thirds, midface and lower face AP projection, chin position, nasolabial angle
What are you evaluating on dental photos?
Dental health, missing teeth, periodontal status, phenotype, angles molar and canine relationship, cross bites, midlines, arch form, pathology
For an obstructive sleep apnea patient what would your exam look like?
Body habitus, intra nasal inspection, airway assessment, dental exam, occlusion
What diagnostic procedure would you like for your OSA work up?
Nasopharygoscopy with Mueller’s maneuver, lateral ceph and CBCT
