Should monitor the dental development and be alert of:

  1. Eruption and exfoliation dates
  2. Palpation of maxillary canines for 8-10 yrs
  3. Long term prognosis of permanent 6s
  4. Anterior cross bite amenable to URA correction
  5. Non eruption of tooth when contra lateral has erupted
  6. Advise parents/ patients of possible localised crowding

  3. Undertake an orthodontic assessment including an indication of treatment need
  4. Identify and explain the principles of intercept treatment including timely interception
  5. Identify when, where and how to refer for specialist treatment
  6. Recognise and explain the range of contemporary orthodontic treatment options, their impact, outcomes, limitations and risks
  7. Undertake limited appliance emergency procedures
