Patella luxation
Extra rotation to his hindlimb
Don’t just rely on physical exam and history. Please take rads.
Camel test
excessive pronation (greater than 45 degrees of rotation on affected side.
test for collateral ligament stability.
Pronate: medal Supinate: lateral
Most common cause of front limb lameness
elbow
Positive drawer in flexion, but not extension
Partial tear- cranial-medial band
Positive thrust
Complete tear
Meniscus most likely to tear
Medial meniscus attached to the tibia and lateral to the femur. Medial more likely to tear.
Bunny hops
hip dysplasia. ortolani test
Ortoloni best for surgery
what angle: low abduction angle, crisp (that means that there is still a dorsal acatabular rim). Means it’s not popping out as far.
Hip luxation
Craniodorsal more common hip luxation
Cranioventral- not easily palpable. Moves medial
Gracilis myopathy
hock is swinging outward. Cannot extend leg and pulls tibia in.
Tx- take out the muscle, but it will return.
