To isolate the teeth from saliva
Why is it important to locate a loose band?
A loose band could cause: Straining Decalcification Caries Strong odor and tastes Plaque build up
How is a band removed?
Teflon beak of pliers is placed on occ
Other beak on edge of band
Squeeze pliers together and the band is lifted free

DA- ONLY elastics
RDA- ALL TYPES
Both under direct supervision
What is the appropriate method for measuring arch width?
Use a bow divider to measure the distance from the tip of the cusp of the right cuspid to the tips of the cusp of the left side
