Why is BP presented as systolic or diastolic? (1)
A
Because during each cardiac cycle - artial blood pressure varies between maximum (systolic) and minimum (diastolic) pressure

A
120/80mmHg - 140/90mmHg (range)

What are the 3 stages of hypertension (High BP)?
A
Stage 1 - 140/90mmHg+
Stage 2 - 160/100mmHg+
Severe - 180/110mmHg+

What should you do if you have a patient suffering from severe hypertension (180/110mmHg)? (2)
A
Rebook patient if treatment is not urgent
However, if urgent (i.e. severe pain) -> treat patient
