CARL ROGERS and ABRAHAM MARLOW
They developed humanistic approach : ‘third face’
Rejected the before approaches and emphasised the self - determination and free will
1950s : cognitive approach
Introduction of the digital computer gave them a metaphor for the operations of mind
Reintroduced study of mental processes but more scientific than WUNDT’s

Drew attention to the role of cognitive factors in learning : providing a bridge between traditional behaviourism and the new cognitive approach
