Q

What does “oxidation” mean?

A

An oxygen molecule broke a double bond, usually between two carbon atoms, and stuck itself to one of the carbons—creating a new molecule that is different from the original one. (Eventually the process of oxidation changes the essential oil and the oil can become skin irritating.)
