Eye
The eye allows us to judge the distances and size of objects more easily.
Brain
Uses oxygen from our blood to send and receives messages quickly all around our body.
Heart
Pumps blood which carries oxygen all around our body
Lungs
They expand and contract to get oxygen into our blood
Stomach
Helps digest food by using hydrochloric acid to break it down
Liver
It makes bile
It stores glucose as glycogen
Cleans your blood
Helps the body use carbohydrates
Kidneys
To balance the amount of water that goes into our body, the amount that gets out by urine and to filter our blood.
Small intestine
Absorbs useful nutrients from the food we eat
Large intestine
Absorbs water and passes the waste from our food out as faeces.
Skin
Inside layer is called dermis
In this layer we have sweat glands, hair follicles, nerves and blood vessels.
Outside layer is called epidermis
Contains pigment which causes the colour of our skin
It protects us from the environment
