What does the lymphatic system do?
It is responsible for bood production, maintenance of fluid balance, and defense against disease
What does the gall bladder do?
The gallbladder stores bile, a combination of fluids, fat, and cholesterol. Bile helps break down fat from food in your intestine. The gallbladder delivers bile into the small intestine.
Where is the gall bladder?
Under your liver, right upper (hypochondriac) side of your abdomen.
It is a 4 inch pear shaped organ.
What does the pancreas do?
It makes digestive juices, which consist of powerful enzymes. These are released into the small bowel after meals to break down and digest food.
It makes hormones that control blood glucose levels.
Where is the pancreas?
The pancreas sits in the right hypochondriac and epigastric region of the abdomen.
It is about 6 inches long and sits behind the stomach.
Where is the spleen?
The spleen sits in the left hypochondriac region of the abdomen.
It is fist shaped, purple and 4 inches long
What does the spleen do?
It acts as a filter for blood as part of the immune system. Old red blood cells are recycled in the spleen, and platelets and white blood cells are stored there.
What is in the right hypochondriac region of the abdomen?
