Accuracy
Objectivity
Currency
is the collective term for misinformation, disinformation, and mal-information which all pose problems/threats in our society
Information disorder
content that is intentionally false and designed to cause harm
Disinformation
When disinformation is shared
Misinformation
Information based on reality but is used to harm a person, organization, or a country
Mal-information
also describes false content but the person sharing doesn’t realize that it is false or misleading
Misinformation
“writing, music,
art, speech, etc. that intentionally copies the style of someone famous or copies a particular situation, making the
features or qualities of the original more noticeable in a way that is humorous
Parody
a way of criticizing people or ideas in a humorous way, especially in
order to make a political point, or a piece of writing that uses this style
Satire
It is when headlines, visuals or captions do not support the content. The best example for this is clickbait headlines
which feature sensational language to drive clicks
False Connection
Information is used to mislead or to frame issues or individuals in certain ways.
Misleading Content
It is when genuine sources are impersonated. For example, someone’s name or organizations’ logos were used in videos or images they did not even create, or were quoted to speeches they did not even say.
Imposter Content
It is when genuine information is shared out of its original context
False Context
When genuine information or image is manipulated to deceive.
Manipulated Content
100% false new content designed to deceive and harm. It may be in text format, or it can also be images, videos, etc.
