Beers criteria
For Potentially inappropriate medication use in older adults is a list of meds that are best avoided in older adults and in those with certain diseases or syndromes; should be prescribed at a reduced dosage, and carefully monitored. Drugs that may be attributed to falls, confusion and mortality.
Ex: diphenhydramine, hydroxyzine, benztropine, nitrofurantoin, doxazosin, terazosin, digoxin, haloperidol, risperidone, benzo’s, zolpidem, insulin, NSAIDs, glyburide, phenobarbital, cyclobenzaprine
