what does the heart do
pumps blood around the body in double circulary system
what does the right ventrivle do
it carries deoxygenated blood to lungs where gas exchange takes place
what does the left ventricle do
carries oxygenated blood under high pressure around the rest of the body
whats a blood vessel
pumps blood from heart, tarvels through blood vessel :

what do veins do
carries deoxgenated blood towards heart from organs of the body.
bloods under low pressure so they have thin walls and large lumen .to stop backflowing they have valves
what do arteries do
carries oxgenated blood away from the heart to organs of the body.
what do the capillaries do
takes waste products away from tissues
components of the blood
blood tissue is made up of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets
whats plasma
yellow liquid that carries other blood cells and sustances such as hormones and urea
red blood cells
transports oxygen around the body. broncave shape, red pigment called haemoglobin and has no nucleus
