In order for the operator to carry out maintenance
Must be approved by the authority - have a part 145 approval
May use its own maintenance or can outsource - will be inspected by the CAA
Part 145
Outlines the requirements for maintenance
The AOC specifies
Name and place of business of the operator
Date of issue and validity
Description of the type of operations used
Type and registration markings
Authorised areas of operation
Special limitations and authorisations
Validation of the AOC
Normal = 24 months
Good AOC extends 36 - 48 months
Operations manual
Must contain all the instructions and info needed by ops personnel to operate correctly within the business’s
Must be written in English unless otherwise authorised

Direct exposure to jet blast
A/c is missing or completely inaccessible(in sea)
Accident/incident reporting
Commander must submit a report of any incident/accident
Must be submitted 72hrs of the hours incident - in the form of an ASR or MOR

If its is a serious defect the operator must also inform
