Organelles. Flashcards
What is the role of the nucleus?
To control the cells activity by regulating chemical reactions.
What do the pores in the Nuclear Envelope allow?
Communication between the nucleus and the rest of the cell.
What is the site of RNA production?
The Nucleolus.
What is RNA?
RNA is a messenger and is primarily responsible for the production of Ribosomes.
What is Endoplasmic reticulum made up of?
Layers of Cisternae membranes. (Transport membranes).
What does SER do?
It is the site of lipid production.
What are Ribosomes made out of?
RNA and protein.
What are Ribosomes the site of?
Protein synthesis.
What does mRNA do to genetic codes?
Translates them into a genetic code made out of amino acids. These grow into king chains and form proteins.
