what is the function of the golgi body and what is its structure like?
packages lipids and proteins
membrane structure with sacs
what do lysosomes do and contain?
breaks down unwanted materials
contains digestive enzymes
what does the ER do and what is it split into? (endoplasmic reticulum)
transports materials such as proteins and lipids and is attached to the nucleus
split into SMOOTH and ROUGH ER
differentiate between rough and smooth ER
rough ER transports proteins and has ribosomes attached
smooth ER transports other things like lipids and has no ribosomes attached
what do ribosomes do?
site for protein synthesis, attached to rough ER
what is the function of the nucleus?
contains DNA
controls cell activity
what is the function of the cell membrane?
controls movement of substances in and out of a cell
what is the function of a vacuole?
stores water + waste products
