Functions- protector, supporter, movement, forms blood cells, stores materials
Muscular System
Organs- skeletal muscles, tendons
Functions- allows locomotion, maintains posture, produces heat
Nervous System
Organs- brain, spinal chord, sensory nerves, motor nerves
Functions- fast-acting control, responds to internal/ external change, activates muscles/glands
Endocrine System
Organs- glands of the body, pancreas, testies, ovaries
Functions- slow acting, secretion of regulatory chemicals and hormones, growth, reproduction, metabolism
Integumentary
Organs- skin, nails, hair, glans for sweat & oil
Functions- protects, synthesizes Vitamin D, sensory
Cardiovascular System
Organs- heart, blood vessels, veins, arteries
Functions- transports good things- oxygen nutrients… bad things- CO2, wastes
Lymphatic System
Organs- lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes
Function- carries liquids to your heart, disposes of debris, involved in immunity
Respiratory System
Organs- nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchus, lungs
Functions- keeps blood supplied w/ oxygen, removed CO2
Digestive System
Organs- mouth, esophagus, stomach, small & large intestines, rectum, anus… All together- Alimentary Canal
Functions- break down food/ drinks, allows for nutrient absorption in blood in small intestine, eliminates indigestible material
Urinary System
Organs- 2 kidneys, 2 uretors, urinary bladder, urethra
Functions- eliminates nitrogenous waste, maintains PH balances, regulates water & electrolytes
