Used during low-level bombing, fins open to slow down the weapon and allows aircraft sufficient time to clear target area.
What is a NON-RETARED bomb?
Used during high-level bombing, Fins remains closed allowing weapon to fall unimpeded to target.
What does YELLOW weapons coding mean?
High Explosive
What does BROWN coding mean?
Rocket Motor
What does BLUE coding mean?
Training or Inert
What is ACTIVE weapons guidance system?
Target illumination is supplied by a component carried in the missile.
What is SEMI-ACTIVE weapons guidance system?
Missile gets its target illumination from an external source, such as a transmitter carried in launching aircraft.
What is PASSIVE weapons guidance system?
Directing intelligence is received from the target.
