Orbit/Ear Stuff Flashcards
function of anterior chamber
Contains aqueous humor-light passes through chamber through pupil
function of posterior chamber
Contains vitreous humor to structurally support retina while transmitting light
what is the lacrimal gland’s blood and nerve source
Blood: Supraorbital artery (branch to lacrimal)
Innervation: Lacrimal nerve from CN V1 (general sensory), CN VII (parasympathetic)
where does tympanic membrane and auditory tube receive blood supply from
maxillary artery
what is tympanic membrane innervated by
CN VIII
what is auditory tube innervated by
CNV2, CNVIII
what does front nerve come off of and innervate
CN VI- innervates sensory of orbit and skin of forehead (comes out of orbit)
what is geniculate ganglion
CN VII sensory fibers- cell bodies for taste anterior 2/3 of tongue and is junction point for greater petrosal nerve branches
what does greater petrosal nerve do
parasympathetic from CNVII, innervates glands of orbit tnad nose
what does lesser petrosal nerve do
innervated by CN IX (motor-parasympathetic) innervates parotid gland
