Fungal infections

Fungal infection/ opportunistic overgrowth of ubiquitous organisms.
This type of fungal infection has white patches that CAN be wiped off, to expose bleeding mucosa underneath.
Pseudomembranous
Example of erythematous/ atrophic fungal infection.

ANC
Amphotericin B

Cream for candida

Oral systemic meds for candida
Azole antifungals
(Ketokonazole, Fluconazole, Itraconazole).
Have a higher index of suspicion when leukoplakia has these features.
1) Large or with erythroplakia
2) Verrucous or ulcerative
Caused by negative pressure on tissues.
Papillary hyperplasia
Lichen planus on mucosa looks _______.
Erosive
It’s not necessary to treat this form of lichen planus.
