Marginal
Weather is considered “marginal” if the ceiling is within 100 feet, or the visibility is
within 1/2 mile of the minimums for that airport. When the weather conditions
forecast for the destination airport, based on CAT I minimums, and the first alternate
airport, based on derived alternate minimums, are marginal, then at least one
additional alternate must be designated.
International Alternate
Flight > 6 hours
Airport only has 1 runway
Alternate Weather Mins
Not if N/A is on approach plate
1 Nav provides: Straight in non-precision approach or Cat 1 precision app or Circling from IAP= Add 400' to MDA/DA Add 1sm/1600m to landing mins

- FR is GREEN

- Flaps auto-retract at 210kts

Simple- 1000ft make the turn
Simple-special- turn is made before 1000ft

Ram air inlet only opens when:
Differential pressure lower than 1psi
If greater than 1 psi, even if opened, check valve downstream won’t allow it.
When do security checks need to be done?
First flight of the day:
Early search- 2300-2400 LT day prior
Delayed search- flights scheduled to arrive after 2300, and then depart at 0100 or earlier, search may be delayed until next city
International- 2
One done at departure, the other done upon arrival
Private charter
Done prior to returning aircraft to revenue service
You can repo without the search done, no revenue pax or cargo are allowed on board.
*Apple charters are considered scheduled flights and are treated like first flight of day searches
*Maintaining security means close all doors and windows, and pull the jet bridge. Unless the jet bridge has a locking door.
*Contact SOC if not sure search is done.
TEST/ Cabin advisory
T-Type of emergency E-Evac anticipated S-Signal to brace, remain seated, evac. All said 3 times T-Time remaining *use emergency call button
An advisory lets them know a situation exists, but a change in flight plan or an evac is not necessary at this time. Just remind them that an emergency prep is not anticipated. I.E. Loss of one hydraulic system.
Prisoners
Only 2 low risk prisoners accepted. No high risk
<4 hours= 1 LEO
>4 hours= 2 LEOs

Pre takeoff contamination check
PTC- performed within holdover time, looking at left wing tip
PTCC- in heavy snow, or holdover time exceeded, go to the exit row and check. Takeoff must be within 5 minutes of check.
APU start limit

After 3 cycles, wait 60 minutes, then attempt 3 more
No logbook entry required, contact MCC for the 10 hour limit status
