What is HZV opthalmicus

A

Presentation of dermatomal rash which indicates ocular involvement of the eye by HZV

  • vesicular rash over tip of nose = cornea involved
  • vesicular rash over nasolabial folds
Mx:
aciclovir oral
Stop an immunosupressants
Urgent opthal review

A

Pigmented deposits throughout retinal field

  1. night vision loss
  2. loss of peripheral vision
  3. loss of day time vision
  4. loss of central vision
