- ‘German October’ - wave of strikes and socialist government set up in Saxony
1924
May elections- decline is support for SPD (only 20%), rise in KPD (12.6%) and NSDAP (6.5%)
1928
- Elections show support for moderate parties (SPD= 30%)
- NSDAP less than 3%.
- Rise of support for KPD - won over 50 seats in the Reichstag, over 14% of vote.
- Red Fighting Leauge had over 130,000 members before disband in 1929
1929
Referendum against the Young Plan was organised by right wing nationalists. Was approved by 94.5% of those who voted but only had a turnout of 14.9% which was well below the required 50%
1930-33
Significant rise in support of the NSDAP (peaked to 37% in July 1932)
The SA Was banned in April 1932 but was soon lifted in June 1932
