Probability: conjunctivitis (bacterial, adenovirus or allergic)
Serious do not miss:
- acute glaucoma
- uveitis (iritis, choroiditis)
- corneal ulcer
- herpes simplex keratitis
- penetrating injury
- orbital cellulitis
Pitfalls
- foreign body or trauma
- scleritis / episcleritis
- Blepharitis

- Nonarteritic ischaemic optic neuropathy
