What is the life history narrative form?
A chronological recording of a narrative slope as as a graphic portrayal of the life history as told by the client
Who is the OPHI unsuitable for>
young children, emotionally distressed clients and clients without cognitive and language skills
Where can it be use?
transitional living programs, spinal cord injury and rehab programs, resisidential care, vocational rehab and long term mental health programs
What are advantages to using the OPHI?
- offers a structured way to gather detailed history
- allows time for clarification
- therapeutic in itself completing it
What are disadvantages to using the OPHI?
- Takes a long time to complete
- will not work with clients that cannot verbalise or have little insight
