2 Caveats required to break a rule in an emergency

A

Breaches of the rules are only allowed to the extent that is necessary
ATC must be immediately notified
There must not been any other reasonable means of alleviating, avoiding, or assisting with the emergency situation. The Act also stipulates that the degree of danger involved in complying with the prescribed requirements must be greater than the degree of danger involved in deviating from it.
