Operable Walls Technical Flashcards
Technical information from the Dorma Glas brochure
What is a HSW stacking System? Ideal spot? Glazing?
Horizontal Sliding Walls (HSW)
System consists of large glass panels that slide horizontally on a track system. They are ideal for creating movable partitions in offices, conference rooms, or even residential settings. They can be fully glazed with no visible frames or framed for added stability & soundproofing.
What is FSW? Ideal spot?
Folding Sliding Walls
System consists of glass panels that fold and slide along a track.
They are ideal for creating moveable partitions for conference rooms and dividers in restaurants.
4 reasons why installation is made simpler & secure with stackers?
- The track come in pieces that have to be connected together. The unique pieces can be secured together using special clamps that are screwed into the channel, creating a strong & secure connection.
- The track pieces can be cut to size on-site to fit your specific needs.
- Stacking bay (where panels are stored when not in use) connects to main track in the same way - with clamps & pins.
- The bottom of the track has special pins that help the glass (roller carriers) roll smoothly and evenly.
Explain 3 reasons why stackers are versatile
- You can Mix & Match tracks that are either straight or angled pieces which can be combined to create almost any curvy shape you can imagine.
- The Hollow design makes it light weight but still stable and twist resistant.
- Easier installation combined with HSW substructure.
What are the drill hole intervals?
For a straight line system configuration, a drill hole interval of 300 mm in track is sufficient, whilst the stacking area requires an interval of 100 mm. Track with angle of 161 - 179 degrees is mitred, while at angles between 90 & 160 degrees a segment is incorporated.
