Flexor carpi ulnaris
Client seated. Forearm in supination.
Test position: flexion of wrist, ulnar deviation
Support under arm, resist from pinky side
Extensor carpi radialis longus
Client seated. Forearm pronated.
Test position: wrist extended with radial deviation. Support under wrist.
Resist against thumb side
Biceps Brachii
Client seated. Elbow flexed.
To palpate: coracoid resist gh flexion, humerus resist elbow flex.
Test position: support elbow, resist elbow flexion at wrist
Pec minor
Client supine
Test position: shoulder lifted off table.
Support scapula, resist shoulder punch
Pec major (clavicular head)
Client supine.
To palpate:
1.) push breast tissue down, palpate clavicle to greater crest of humerus resisting horizontal abd
2.) Come down sternum, then get client to put breast tissue up
Palpate long rib cage up to greater tubercle of humerus resisting horizontal abd and int.rot
Test position: client holds arm out for gravity, then resist h.abd, holding other shoulder down
Rhomboids
Client prone.
To palpate: landmark C7, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 resisting thumbs down lifting arm up to sky
Test: hold other scapula down and put pressure against distal forearm down
Biceps Femoris
Palpation portion: client prone. Turn thigh out. Put knee up into flexion with internal rotation.
Resist knee flexion.
Test position: thigh rotated out, knee flexed to 70 and internally rotated?
Put palm on opposite psi’s and hold ankle. Resist knee flexion
Quads ( palpate rec fem)
Palpation portion: client supine, your knee under theirs. Resist hip flexion then knee ex.
Test position: client seated at end of table. Support under thigh. Resist knee extension
Glute max
Client prone, knee flexed to 90
Test position: hand on PSIS to support. Hip extended with 90 degree ex
Put knee on table and football hold knee
Psoas major
Palpation portion: client side lying, landmark L4 walk up L3,L2,L1,T12 and confirm with crunch
Move client into supine, mirror fingers, and get them to take a deep breath so your fingers sink in. Pulse contract crunch to inferior tubercle of femur.
Test position: supine. Put leg into hip flexion, abduction and externally rotate leg.
Place hand on opposite asis for support and resist at ankle
Serratus Anterior
Palpation: client seated, palpate ribs 10-2 then verbalize 1st rib.
Broad handedly pulse contract protraction to medial border of scap then verbalize
Test position: arm flexed to 110, hold scapula in place and resist from bicep?
Tibialis posterior
Palpation portion: client prone. interosseus between tib/fib, resist inversion and plantar flexion,
Goes under medial malleoli, under foot to navicular, cuneiforms, cuboid and bases of 2ndthrough 4th Mt
