Who is in charge of tactical functions (fighting fire) on boat?
The company officer on the engine
What are the two jurisdictions for the fire boat?
Marine district and Harbor district
What makes up the Marine jurisdiction?
- 3 miles out from LA county line to SB county line
- 3 Miles around Anacapa and San Nicolas Island
- Harbor and the Port
What makes up the Harbor jurisdiction?
- Inside the harbor
- 1 mile around the water break
- 1 mile north and south of water break
Who must make sure that the boat is in service?
What happens if boat goes out of service during shift?
On duty captain at the start of the shift
Harbor patrol must notify FCC
FCC will notify BC and ME53
How does the response work when there is a fire in the Harbor district?
Boat 15 will go directly to the fire and the responding engines will meet in marina/coordinate on radio
Response procedures when the fire is in the port?
Boat 15 will go to the entrance of the port and get ahold of the harbor Master for permission to enter port. Responding engines will meet at port
How does a response in the marine division work?
Boat 15 will wait for engine at harbor patrol and go together. Coast guard should be notified to see if they are responding. Before casting off captain must inform dispatch that we are casting off on Boat 15
Where can the go bags be found and what is in them?
- 1 on boat 15 and 1 w/ USCG
- 5 strobe lights, 5 overall bibs, 5 life vests
What is the operational mode when boat 15 is not fully staffed?
Must be in defensive mode
