An unforeseen situation calling for immediate action
Define “Evacuation”
A control on the movement of people and their property
Define “Voluntary Evacuation”
When advanced measures should be taken to prevent harm to elderly, infants, children and people with disabilities
(assist w/ getting them out of harms way before real danger arrives)
When should a “Voluntary Evacuation” be issued?
To give residents adequate time to secure belongings, (livestock and large animals) due to an emergency in that general area
When should a “Mandatory Evacuation” be ordered?
When emergency has advanced or is in immediate threat to life and property in that area
Who is responsible for evacuations?
law enforcement
In the absence of law enforcement we may make evacuation notifications as needed
In regards to “Pre-Evacuations” what steps need to be taken by the IC
Actions to ensure that there is enough time and a rout for safe evacuation must be made
What information must be given to law enforcement about the evacuation order?
- Type of incident
- Geographic area to be evacuated
- Suggested evacuation routes
