OOK Flashcards
What is the definition of OOK?
The keying on and off of a voltage according to a pre arranged code the carrier turns on to send a 1 and off to send a 0.
Expand telegraphic structure?
The Arrangement and polarity of elements employed to convey information.
Examples: morse code and Murray code.
Define an element ?
The element is a function of time and it’s polarity may be mark or space.
How does mark or space work ?
If the polarity of MARK is binary 1 or voltage high then space will be binary 0 or voltage low.
What is a code character ?
An example of code character is the letter L in morse which has multiples of equal length mark and space elements.
What is baud ?
THe number of elements transmitted in one second.
What is (ETD) element time duration ?
The time taken for a duration of one element to be transmitted. Expressed in milliseconds (ms)
What is the formula for ETD?
1000
Element time duration=—— =ms
Bauds
What is (FKF) fundamental keying equal to ?
fm = modulating frequency.
How do we calculate transmission bandwidth and receiver bandwidth ?
Bauds x5
Bauds x3
