St anselm used what reasoning for gods existence

Descartes reasoning?
Premise god is supremely perfect being
Premise every object has essences that make it what it is
Conc: essence of a supremely perfect being is existent God is a supremely perfect being therefore he must exist

Logically ridiculous, just because you can imagine the greatest thing doesn’t make it exist example island

What is Kants criticism
1st criticises Descartes: existence is not an essence as it does not add anything.
2 Kant wanted to prove the analytical statements as there is no empirical evidence God is the greatest/perfect
