symptoms of toxic optic neuropathy?
A
- acute onset of reduced vision (possible 20/400)
- VF defect (centrocecal)
- dyschromatopsia

signs of toxic optic neuropathy?
A
- bilateral optic nerve pallor with swelling
- nerve fiber layer defects
- reduced contrast sensitivity
- possible APD – if optic nerve damage is asymmetrical

tx for toxic optic neuropathy?
A
- d/c offending agent
- vision will spontaneously improve w/in 12 months but permanent visual changes may occur.
