16
Q

what are 3 types of secondary open angle glaucoma that is lens induced?

A
  1. phacolytic
  2. lens particle
  3. lens dislocation
17
Q

define phacolytic glaucoma

A

lens material (protein) leaks thru lens capsule + macrophages that phagocytosed the lens proteisn + inflammatory debri clog the TM and obstruct AH outflow.

18
Q

define lens particle glaucoma?

A

liberation of lens particles after surgery or trauma clog the TM

19
Q

define lens dislocation galucoma?

A

lens becomes dislocated – anterior dislocation causes obstruction of the pupillary aperture which leads to iris bombe and angle closure.

20
Q

what kind of refractive error is associated with acute angle closure?

A

> 3D hyperope

21
Q

what ethnicity is more at risk for primary acute anlge closure?

A

asians and eskimos
