Muslims gain confidence when something goes wrong, because they know it is a part of gods plan
Muslims try to live accordingly to god’s will in their everyday lives
Sunni and Shia Muslims
When Muhammad died, there were great disagreements about who should succeed him as the new leader of Islam
Sunni Muslims believed that Abu Bakr, Muhammad’s closest advisor, was the rightful leader
Shia Muslims believed it was Ali, Muhammad’s cousin, should be leader after his death
Six articles of faith in Sunni Islam
Tawhid- belief that there in only one god
Angels- belief in angels, who passed on god’s message to the prophets
The holy books- respect for the holy books and particularly the Quran, which is the highest authority in Islam
The prophets- respect for the prophets and particularly for Muhammad
